1 Properly tension the saw chain.
2 Check for damage or wear.
3 Regularly clean the guide bar groove and ensure proper lubrication (do not use waste engine oil; using specialized bar oil extends service life).
4 Periodically flip the guide bar to ensure even wear on both rails.
5 Dress the guide rails.
6 Check the clearance between the nose sprocket and the bar body.
